CRYOSTASIS.COM -- the new informational portal about designing the reversible cryopreservation procedure for transplants with a possible application for cryopreserving humans in the future. |
About AuthorSergey Sheleg, M.D.Dr. Sergey Sheleg received his M.D. from the Byelorussian State Medical University at Minsk (the Republic of Belarus). The spheres of Dr. Sheleg’s research expertise are cerebral hypoxia/anoxia and neuro-oncology (management of malignant brain gliomas). During his research of brain death pathogenesis he got the interesting data sugesting that the morphological changes in the human brain can be reversible up to one hour of warm cardiac arrest. According to his opinion it is possible to develop the special therapy, which can control the appearance of irreversible changes in the brain after long-term warm cardiac arrest. At present Dr. Sheleg is a Head Research Advisor at IBPT LLC (Innovative Biological Preservation Technologies LLC, Scottsdale, Arizona, U.S.A.), where he is working on the problem of designing new reversible cryopreservation procedure for human body.
